MettaX and Escort-TD Sensors Connection Manual

From Escort Knowledge Base
MettaX MC202X

Device connection (Wi-Fi)

Power Mettax Dashcam MC202X up (B+ red wire to the PWR of your power supply and GND black wire to the GND of your power supply). Be sure to connect the ACC line of the Dashcam to the PWR of your power supply as well.

On your smartphone find the Wi-Fi network with the s/n of your Dashcam. Connect to it. Enter the default password: 88888888.

Device connection and RS232 configuration (MCTool app)

Download the MCTool app. Run the app and connect the Dashcam. The dafault password is: 11111. Enter the password and tap on the Sign in button.

Scroll down to see the Peripheral button and tap on it. Then tap on the COM port and configure it as show on the screenshot below:

Wiring

BA-BLE and TD-600 have the same Rx (purple wire) and Tx (green wire) input and output that need to be connected to MC202X' wires as follows:

  • Rx (purple) to Rx (Rx2 green wire in this example)
  • Tx (green) to Tx (Tx2 white wire in this example)

BA-BLE Configuration

BA-BLE Adapter (current design)

The BA-BLE needs to be configured via Escort Configurator App (Android and iOS).

Power the BA-BLE up (12 to 24 V power supply): red wire must be connected to the PWR+, black wire - to the GND.

On your smartphone, enable the Bluetooth and geolocation (grant the app access to the geolocation in the Permissions settings of the app on your smartphone).

Press Sensor settings button. Afterwards, select BA-BLE.

Find the required adapter by typing the last 6 digits of its serial number. You can find the serial number on the case.

You can also simply select the required sensor from the list and click the Connect button.

Setting password

It is strongly recommended that you set a password on the sensor in order to restrict access to its settings. When you connect for the first time, the application will ask you to set a password automatically.

You can set, change and delete a password in the Additional Features menu.

Then, in the field that appears named "Password for changing settings", enter the password that you want to be used and tap on the Install button.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PASSWORD RESET PROCEDURE IS VERY TIME-CONSUMING. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU TAKE A RESPONSIBLE APPROACH TO SELECTING YOUR PASSWORD AND MAINTAINING ITS SAFETY.

Also note that the password cannot start with 0.

To delete a previously set password, you must enter it in the Password field, then press the Enter and then the Delete buttons.

Attention! By default, there is no password set on the sensor! If you connected the sensor and a password was already set on it, contact technical support.

Main parameters

After connecting the BA-BLE, you will see the main menu.

  1. BA-BLE serial number
  2. Firmware version (hereinafter FW)
  3. Connected sensors and their current readings

Sensor connection

To connect sensors in the main menu of BA-BLE press “+” (1) and, in the opened window, enter the sensor name or MAC address(2) and press “Connect”(3).

To delete the sensor, push on it and swipe to the left. Then tap on the delete button and then disable.

TD-BLE

To connect a TD-BLE to a BA-BLE, in the main menu, press “+” (1) and, in the opened window, enter the sensor name( TD_******, where ****** are the last 6 digits of the sensor's serial number) or MAC address(2) and press “Connect”(3).

You can find the sensor's name on the sensor's head (the last 6 digits of the serial number) or when searching for or connecting the sensor in the mobile app (viable only on Android devices: Apple's policy forbids the advertising of MAC addresses).

After connecting the sensor, go to the settings by taping on its name.

After the switch, you will see the current sensor data, to configure the data transmission, go to the RS-232 or RS-485 settings depending on which data transmission interface you are going to use.

Next, enable the transmission of the required parameters and, in the opened window, select the required network address (0-255) through which this parameters will be transmitted and then tap on Save. For the connection with the MettaX MC202X select the network address 1.

a

Due to the RS-232's limitations you can connect only 1 sensor (be it a TD-BLE paired with a BA-BLE or a TD-600) via 1 network address. Be sure to select only the Level and Temperature option in case of connecting a BA-BLE.
